Weld On Swivels 3x20W Series

 

The 3x20W is a straight weld-on single-plane swivel (Style 20) that replaces the SJW weld on swivels.

The 3x20W series can be supplied in a variety of sizes, typically in the range of 2" - 6" size.

They are available in mild steel or stainless steel 316 and can be supplied with range of seal materials on request. 

The 3x20W swivels are beveled on both ends for welding and can be used in a wide range of loading arms and similar applications where 360° rotational joints are required.

Buna-N seals are standard in all of the above swivel joints, but each is available with seals made of Fluorocarbon GFLT, FEP PTFE/Silicone/EPDM, or Kalrez® 6375, depending on the pressures and temperatures of your operation.

Lubrication

Lubrication plays an important role in the life expectancy of a swivel joint. OPW has done extensive research to determine the best lubricants for our products. Our standard is a High Performance Synthetic Lubricant (OPW part # 880-0089).

  • Specially formulated to reduce friction & wear.
  • Requires only annual lubrication
  • Will not drip, melt or carbonize
  • Complies with FDA regulation 21CFR178.3570
  • Temperature Range -40F – 750F (-40C – 399C)
  • Not for use with EPT/EPDM Seals. EPT/EPDM seals require the use of OPW 885-0083 lubricant.

Welding (Where applicable)

  • All swivel joints are welded to conform to the requirements of the latest publication of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Section IX of the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPV). Welding processes for fluid conduits shall be metal-arc inert gas (GMAW) and/or Tungsten Inert Gas (GTAW) and have 100% penetration.
  • Materials: Weld rod materials and welding equipment are qualified and/or certified to the ASME code.
  • Certification: All welds are performed by welders certified per the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IX.

Surface Treatments

  • Treatments: Carbon Steel, Carburized to Rc 45-60 Anodizing for Aluminum.
  • Painting: All Steel and Ductile Iron Swivel Joints are Painted with a Rust-Inhibiting Day Primer Finish Paint (Watson Coatings, Inc. Water
                 Reducible Enamel Coating, Aqua-Shile High Gloss Blue (WAC - 2569) at -6 to 1 mls Dry Film Thickness
